“For whatever we lose (like a you or a me),
It’s always our self we find in the sea.”
― E.E. Cummings
At my age, one would think I know myself pretty well. And I do know a lot about me. How much I like to sleep, what foods I love, the people whom I adore. And yet at times I wonder who I am.
One of the things I loved about being on stage is that I became another person. Although painfully shy for a good part of my life, the stage became a place for me to discover other personas. When performing, I felt at home.
Photography is another way for me to explore what I could be, who I may have been. Creating a story behind my conceptual photographs helps me to explore creatively my own self.
How about you? Do you know you? How do you find (and define) yourself?
